A true gem among all those rhinestones in the North
End, this rustic but cozy trattoria with stucco walls and beamed ceilings specializes in creative
interpretations of Italian classics. The bad news is that there's no coffee or
dessert. The good news is that you can work off dinner with a stroll around
the neighborhood before stopping someplace on Hanover Street for an espresso
and a pastry.
Behind Terramia's pane-windowed storefront on Salem Street is a busy 39-seat trattoria decked out in linens, candlelight and painting

countryside. Like the cuisine here, the atmosphere is elegant yet understated.
Since opening in 1993, Terramia has aimed to convince North End diners that
there was always more to Italian food than red sauce. Over the Years, the
inventive and beloved restaurant has done a great
deal of convincing. You'll
find creative interpretations of seasonally-based classics here. But come

"I booked Terramia in Boston's
North End to celebrate my husband's birthday,
and I couldn't have found a better place!! I
highly recommend it. It's a really cute,
genuinely Italian restaurant with
delicious food
and fantastic service. Gabriel was our waiter
and he struck the perfect balance between giving
us just the right amount of privacy while still
being there when we needed him. I had mentioned
in my reservation that we're
celebrating my
husband's birthday and Gabriel came around at
the very end with a delicious piece of
candle-lit tiramisu! What a nice treat! Looking
forward to many more great meals at Terramia..."

We celebrated New Years Eve
at Terramia with out of town guests. We had a
good # of choices for our 5 course meal from a
prefix menu. Everything was delicious and the
service was great. We had 2 servers for our
table who were both wonderful. The highlight
Mushroom, Goat Cheese, & Chestnut soup, Fig Ravioli's with Pork
medallion, Shrimp & Crab Risotto, Lamb, Filet w/Gorgonzola, &
Tiramisu. The quality of the food was excellent and more importantly
delicious. I will recommend Terramia to locals and visitors looking
for a great meal in the North End. I'll be back too!

One son, is a food critic who travels extensively for business and pleasure, said he will be returning to your ristorante when travel brings him to Boston. How I would love to start off my dinner this evening with your Smoked tomato and braised onion Tart, goat cheese and micro salad...thank you for adding greatly to our family gathering in Boston. 2008. The food was absolutely d

service was courteous and attentive, and
ambiance was romantic. An unforgettable dining
experience here at Terramia - will recommend it
to others! Also, on the day before, the staff
worked hard to change our original table from 2
to 4 people. They stayed in touch with me via
telephone throughout the day to make sure they
could make it happen. We thank you very much for
